Every brand decides how its site opens and where its blog lives. Reading settings hold those choices, so they change in the dashboard instead of in code.
The four settings
- Home page shows: a static page, or your latest posts.
- Front page: the page served at the root when the home page is static.
- Posts page: the page that lists the blog, for example Blog at
/blog. - Posts per page: 1 to 100, 25 by default.
The front page and the posts page point at a translation group, not one entry, so every language follows the same choice and each language keeps its own path.
What the site does with them
- The posts page shows its own blocks, such as a header, followed by the list of posts.
- Numbered pages work out of the box:
/blog/page/2,/blog/page/3and so on, with the right canonical and previous and next links. - Category and tag archives borrow the posts page layout.
- The sitemap shows the posts page as updated whenever a new post goes live.
This blog is an example
On atlascms.id the front page is a static page, the posts page is Blog, and each page lists nine posts as a three by three grid. Changing any of that is one setting away.
